Why we built feebite

A tool for freelancers who are tired of losing money to fees they never agreed to.

Every freelancer has a moment where they realise they're overpaying. Maybe it's spotting a PayPal conversion charge buried in a statement. Maybe it's noticing that the $3,000 invoice they raised somehow turned into £2,380 in their bank account. The maths never quite adds up — and most tools don't explain why.

feebite was built to fix that. We map your exact payment journey — from how your clients pay you, through the platforms you use, to your bank account — and calculate the cheapest combination for your specific situation.

How our recommendations work

We don't rank platforms by who pays us the highest commission. Our engine scores every option based on FX fees, receiving fees, withdrawal costs, and payout speed — weighted by the answers you give us in the wizard. The winner is the combination that puts the most money in your pocket.

We do earn affiliate commissions when you sign up to platforms through our links. We're transparent about this — and we include platforms with no affiliate programme (like PayPal) when they genuinely belong in a recommendation. Our editorial independence is not for sale.

Who we're built for

feebite is designed specifically for freelancers and remote workers in the UK, Canada, and Australia who receive international payments — from Upwork, Fiverr, direct clients, or anywhere else. We understand the difference between a UK bank wire and a Payoneer withdrawal, and we know which platforms play nicely with which clients.

If you're billing in a currency that isn't yours, you need a payment stack — a deliberate chain of tools that minimises what gets skimmed off along the way. That's exactly what feebite calculates for you.

The data behind the tool

We track fee structures across 50+ platforms including Wise, Payoneer, Revolut, Stripe, PayPal, Airwallex, and many more. Fees change — we update our platform data regularly and always show the date our figures were last verified.
